The word of the week is “Standard!” We’ve got a Standard Tournament this Friday night, and then our Standard Store Championship on Sunday.


Standard actually seems to be in an interesting place, from a metagame perspective. Midrange seems to be the most popular archetype, but there’s a good variety of midrange decks. And there are also plenty of aggro and ramp builds as well. Which deck will come out on top Sunday at our store championship? Who will take home 1st place? Also on Friday, we have a Dino-Sized Lord of the Rings draft. Dino-Sized drafts use 4 packs instead of the usual 3 in order to give you a more powerful and synergistic deck. And as a bonus all participants in this Friday’s draft will receive a special Rampant Growth promo. Dino-Sized drafts are dino-sized fun, and we hope to see you there.


This week’s featured single is the Masterpiece version of Duplicant. Duplicant sees some play in Commander, where it functions as a clever bit of removal on a body. What makes this copy special, however, is the fact that it’s a Masterpiece, the extra rare card treatment originally from Kaladesh. Wizards of the Coast has printed special card treatments before and since, but arguably none are as stunning as the Masterpiece series.
