It's just another Magic Monday! We're well into December, which means 2024 is rapidly coming to a close! But before we say hello to 2025, we have so many events to get through.

 

Tomorrow, as per usual, is Commander night. For $5 you receive a complimentary pack and a night of Commander fun. Registrations will go live at https://labyrinthdc.com/magic-events at noon, and the event has been filling quickly, so be sure to sign up early.

 

Then, this Friday, we’ll be hosting a Foundations draft as well as our Standard Showdown, featuring Cowboy Bebop crossover promos! We only run Standard Showdown occasionally, so we’ll be able to give everyone who participates a promo! Be sure to check out the featured singles this week to get a peak at the card up for grabs.

 

On Sunday, we host our final Store Championship of the year. The format is wide open, and the field a little light, so be sure to sign up for your chance to take home the lion’s share of the prizes, which includes store credit as well as beautiful full art Void Winnower promos.

 

Towards the end of the month, we’ll say goodbye to 2024 with a Chaos Draft at FNM on the 27th, featuring packs from sets released this year. It’s always fun to find new strategies and strange synergies in a Chaos draft, so be sure to mark the 27th in your calendar.

 

And what better way to say hello to a New Year than by teaching or learning a new game? We’re running a Magic Academy: Learn to Play on December 29th. If you’re interested in helping to teach the game that we all love, reach out to [email protected] and let us know. Or if you know someone interested in learning, be sure to send them our way. No registration is required, but the event starts promptly at 1:00pm.

 

This week our featured singles are all the promos up for grabs at Standard Showdown and Store Championship. For the Standard Showdown we have the gorgeous Cowboy Bebop style Disdainful Stroke and Go for the Throat. And for Store Championship every participant will receive a Chromatic Sphere, top eight finishers will receive Reality Smasher, and the Champion will win the Void Winnower. And while you can’t find these cards at our TCG Player shop yet, if you do win and want to sell them to the store, we’ll happily buy them. Just email [email protected] to set up an appointment.
