Magic Monday-July 15, 2024-Labyrinth's Latest Magic: The Gathering News

This week's Chaos Draft, our coming store championship, the next RCQ, Bloomburrow, and more!

It’s just another Magic Monday!

There’s so much to talk about this week!

This Friday we have both a Pauper Tournament and a Chaos Draft! Chaos drafts are always fun as you try to assemble a functional deck out of disparate sets that aren’t designed to play well together. This particular Chaos Draft is going to feature one Ravnica Remastered pack for each player, and then a mix of Murders at Karlov Manor and Outlaws of Thunder Junction, with just a dash of Modern Horizons 3. Sign up now at https://www.labyrinthdc.com/magic-events/ to secure your spot today!

And we’re also just eleven days away from arguably the cutest release in Magic history: Bloomburrow! On Friday the 26th we’ll be hosting a special Prerelease Draft as our first look at the set. Saturday, morning of the 27th, we’re running our Sealed League-style event which is perfect for newer players. Saturday and Sunday afternoon we have traditional four-round Sealed. And Sunday morning of the 28th is Two-Headed Giant! All of our events are filling up quickly, so sign up soon!

In August we have a bunch of great events as well. August 3rd will be our Pauper Commander Tournament. Pauper commander is fun and diverse way to play EDH, which you can learn more about at https://pdhhomebase.com/. In this event, you’ll face off against a random pod with the chance to win $20 in store credit by being the last player standing.

August 10th is our first Regional Championship Qualifier of the season, which will be a Modern tournament. RCQs are the first step on the path to the Pro Tour. Sweet promos, top 8 pins from Pinfinity, and store credit will be on the line along with entry to one of two Regional Championships in the US next year. The RCQ is played at Competitive Rules Enforcement Level, which is a great way to play a more serious and higher stakes version of MTG.

And August 25th is our Store Championship, which is Standard. This particular championship features some really beautiful and collectible top 8 and Champion promos, including a full-art, textless Urza’s Saga to the winner. Registration for our August events is already open, so go ahead and sign up now!

This week for our featured single we have not just one card, but ten. We recently purchased a set of Revised Edition Dual Lands.  At this point, regular readers will know that the original Dual Lands are some of the most sought-after cards in Magic, being both collectible and eminently playable in formats like Commander, Legacy, and Vintage. In this set, the Underground Sea stands out for being in the best condition. You can find all our singles at https://labyrinthgameshop.tcgplayerpro.com/, including all our Dual Lands.

That’s all for this week, see you next Magic Monday!
