Bloomburrow is here; upcoming events; and, eye-catching prizes for our RCQ!
It’s just another Magic Monday!
Bloomburrow is almost here!
Before we get to the excitement of furry woodland creatures, it’s important to highlight the changes that are coming tomorrow for Commander. Starting with Commander this week, preregistration will be required, and the start time will be moving to 6:30pm. Registration will open at noon on the day of the event, and you can call the store if you can’t access our site. You can cancel up until 5:00pm for a full refund. Attendance will be capped at 60 players. Once space becomes available, you can check in with the staff member running the event that day, receive your pack, and sit down. If you arrive after 6:30pm, you will still get a pack, but we can’t guarantee you a seat.
We’re making these changes to try and be as fair as possible to our commander players while also ensuring the store is still usable for our other customers. We’ve had so many players recently that we’ve had to turn some away, which isn’t fair to people who drive or metro to the store. This should also smooth out the beginning of the event, since you won’t need to sign in, which means getting you to sit down quicker. We appreciate your support as we go through these changes. If you have any questions or concerns, you can reach out to Kathleen directly at [email protected].
This weekend is Bloomburrow Prerelease! And we still have some room in some of our events! Currently, we still have spots in our Sealed League on Saturday morning, and our Sealed and Two-Headed Giant events, both on Sunday. You can sign up for all of them at https://www.labyrinthdc.com/magic-events/.
And beyond Prerelease we’ll be hosting a Pauper Commander on August 3rd, and a Modern Regional Championship Qualifier on August 10th. Both events are going to be a lot of fun, so we hope you’ll sign up. Pauper commander, in particular, is a unique experience with a growing community at Labyrinth. And the RCQ is a great opportunity to try your hand at competitive Magic.
And the final event to highlight this week is Capital Cube Championship 2024 benefiting So Others Might Eat. Labyrinth is happy to be providing some support for the project, but this is really a community event. Cube drafts are tons of fun, and building a cube is a labor of love. So, this event really highlights some of the best qualities of the Magic community. You can learn more about the event or buy tickets by heading to https://bit.ly/capitolcube2024.
This week’s featured single is the top prize for our RCQ: a special foil Supreme Verdict, with art by Stephen Andrade. And while you can’t find this card with our other singles at https://labyrinthgameshop.tcgplayerpro.com/, you can win it by finishing in the top 2 in our RCQ. Or, if you finish in the top 8, you can win a non-foil version.
That’s all for this week! You can register for any of our upcoming Magic events at https://www.labyrinthdc.com/magic-events.
See you next Magic Monday!
