Our upcoming store championship; the release of Commander Masters; and more!

It’s just another Magic Monday!

Saturday was our Commander Masters Preview event, which means the release of the set is almost here! Friday you can pick up all the Commander Masters your heart desires! You can check out all the CMM we have for preorder at https://www.labyrinthdc.com/.../magic.../commander-masters/.

With Commander Masters releasing this week, we’ve got two special drafts of the set coming up. First on Friday, alongside our Modern tournament, we have a special Commander Masters FNM draft! And then Saturday afternoon we have our final Commander Masters Draft at 2pm. And let’s not forget that the store championship for Lord of the Rings is coming up August 13th. This week’s featured single is Helm of Obedience from Alliances (shown above). This card sees some play in Legacy but is more often seen in Commander. This artifact lets you pay any amount of mana to mill a deck until you’ve milled that many cards or you mill a creature card, which will enter the battlefield under your control. You can use Helm of Obedience to great effect in order to power out a combo piece, just to get value from milling and a free creature, or to do shenanigans by exiling all the milled cards with something like Rest in Peace.
