We’re slowly getting closer to the prerelease for Bloomburrow, and what we’ve seen of the set is adorable and exciting!

 

Registrations are already open at https://www.labyrinthdc.com/magic-events/ for Bloomburrow prerelease! We’ll have draft, sealed, sealed league, and two-headed giant events! Don’t miss the chance to be among the first to play with the new set!

 

This Friday we’re hosting both a Modern tournament and a Modern Horizons 3 Love Your Local Game Store draft! Just for drafting, you’ll receive a special textless, full-art Sakura-Tribe Elder. Sometimes known as STEve, this card goes into a whole lot of commander decks, and this beautiful version is free for participating in the draft or buying three packs of MH3 while supplies last.

 

This Sunday, we’ll be hosting our Magic Open House. It’s a great event for players curious about Magic. Our staff will be happily teaching how to play MTG and spreading the game we all love to new players. And if you’d like to volunteer to help teach, reach out to us at [email protected].

 

And beyond Bloomburrow, we’re happy to announce registrations are open for some events in August: a competitive Pauper commander event on Saturday, August 3rd, and our Modern Regional Championship Qualifier on August 10th. Pauper Commander is a fun, novel format and this will be a great opportunity to test your best Pauper Commander decks out for the chance to earn store credit by taking down a pod. And the RCQ is the first step on the road to the Pro Tour in Magic.

 

This week’s featured single is a borderless copy of Chimil, the Inner Sun. A relatively new card, printed in The Lost Caverns of Ixalan, Chimil is quickly finding a home in commander. In addition to making your spells uncounterable, you get a free spell or card draw at the beginning of each of your end steps. This powerful little card is also colorless, so it goes into any deck.
