Tarkir: Dragonstorm pre orders, Awesome Con events, Single of the Week, and more -- all at Labyrinth Games!

It’s just another Magic Monday!

We’re just a few short weeks away from AwesomeCon 2025! As a reminder, we’ll be running Magic all weekend at the convention, and we have a fantastic prize wall full of goodies to give away! Be sure to check out the Awesome Con website to buy your badge, then swing by the store to pick it up. You can also check out our Magic Events calendar to sign up for the events we’re running at both AwesomeCon and in the store.

Speaking of those events, we’ll be hosting both an Aetherdrift Draft and a Modern Tournament at FNM this week. At the recent Regional Championship, Grinding Breach dominated the meta. Will this carry over to the store? Sign up for Friday and find out!
 
On Sunday, we have a Magic Academy: Deckbuilding event! This session is all about learning how to build a limited deck using six booster packs. Our staff will provide expert tutelage to aspiring Planeswalkers. It’s a great dress rehearsal for going to a proper prerelease.
 
On Sunday the 30th, we’re hosting the Aetherdrift Store Championship. It feels like the set just dropped, but it’s time to start putting together your Standard deck for the set championship already. There are three great promos up for grabs at this event: Deep-Cavern Bat for participating, Preacher of the Schism for the top eight finishers, and Virtue of Persistence for the Store Champion. Standard is in a good place at the moment, so it should be a fun event.
 
Finally, preorders are open for Tarkir: Dragonstorm! Tarkir is a beloved plane in Magic lore, and the return of clan-based seeded prerelease packs means this should be a particularly great prerelease.
 
We'll be hosting prerelease events in the store and at Awesome Con so you don't miss out on this gargantuan new set! Make sure to grab a spot today, no matter where you'll be playing.

This week’s featured single is Death’s Shadow. Grixis Death’s Shadow made a strong showing at this past weekend’s Spotlight Series: Modern in Utrecht. What sets apart this particular copy is that it is a near mint foil in the Future Sight style frame from Mystery Booster 2. Mystery Booster 2 is a convention-exclusive set that is generally not available for purchase. That makes the special treatments of cards very hard to come by, and foil ones even more so. You can find this copy at our TCG Player shop, and, excitingly, you’ll be able to find Mystery Booster 2 packs at our AwesomeCon Prize Wall!
