It’s just another Magic Monday!

 

Magic Foundations is almost here! Magic’s newest set is a bit of an experiment. It marks a return to a “Core Set” experience with streamlined gameplay. But this set will be legal in Standard for at least five years. Although designed to be accessible to new players, veteran Planeswalkers should still be able to enjoy the limited play environment. 

 

So, head on over to our Magic Events page and sign up for one of our prereleases this weekend. We’ll have traditional sealed on Friday evening, as well in the afternoon on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday morning is our sealed league-style prerelease, which is super casual, and great for newer players. And Sunday morning is our Two-Headed Giant event, where you and a partner team up to battle it out in 2v2 action.

 

Tomorrow might be election day, but it’s also Casual Commander night as well! As a reminder: advanced registration is required and goes live at noon tomorrow.

 

This week’s featured single is Buttercup, Provincial Princess, a special Princess Bride themed Secret Lair reprint of Sisay, Weatherlight Captain originally from Modern Horizons. Although the underlying card never made much of an impact in Modern, it sees some limited play in Commander. But this reprint is from a fairly scarce Secret Lair, and is collectible almost entirely because of its connection to a beloved movie and its gorgeous art. So, if you’re a fan of Princess Bride, head over to TCG Player to pick it up right away.
