Magic Monday-October 21, 2024-Labyrinth's Latest Magic: The Gathering News

Trick-or-Treat Sealed, our RCQ winners, and more!

It’s just another Magic Monday!

Halloween is almost here, and we have a spooky fun event this Saturday! Players will take part in a special Trick or Treat sealed event featuring four play packs of Duskmourn, plus two packs of original Mystery Boosters or possibly Phyrexia: All Will Be One collector boosters. And each game players will begin with an emblem that reads "Whenever an enchantment enters the battlefield under your control, choose one: Trick – create a treasure token. Treat – create a food token." This promises to be a fun deckbuilding challenge. We only have a few spots left so sign up for it, and all our other Magic evens, at https://www.labyrinthdc.com/magic-events/ soon.

Speaking of our other Magic events, Tuesday continues to be our Casual Commander night, which does require registration in advance. And this Friday we’ll be hosting both a Duskmourn draft and a Pauper tournament. In Pauper, Clockwork Percussionist from Duskmourn seems to have revitalized Mono-Red, but there are still a healthy number of top tier decks to try out. We hope you’ll come out this Friday and see for yourself.

And then starting November 8th, we’ll be hosting our Magic Foundations prereleases! Spoilers for the set start this week, so you’ll want to be sure to sign up for a chance to play with the Foundations for the first time as soon as possible. The set promises to be a part of Standard for at least 5 years, so it should be an interesting play experience.

This week’s featured single is a foil Blinding Angel from 8th Edition. This little-played card actually packs quite the punch. As a flying 2/4 Angel, it’s a little behind rate at five mana, but whenever it connects for combat damage it causes that opponent to skip their next combat turn, which can hugely swing the tide of a commander game. As this is a foil copy from the original printing, this card is also fairly collectible. It could be yours if you head over to https://labyrinthgameshop.tcgplayerpro.com/ right now.

That’s all for this week! See you next Magic Monday!
