Duskmourn Prerelease and the next RCQ!
It’s just another Magic Monday!
We’re just days away from the arrival of Duskmourn: House of Horror! The set looks scary good, so don’t miss out on your chance to check out the chills and thrills this weekend!
We still have a little room in most of our events, starting with Friday’s Prerelease draft. Drafting a new set is always a little more challenging and recommended for more veteran players. Saturday morning we’ll be hosting sealed league, which is much more relaxed and is great for casual or newer players. You’ll play games as players become free, and there’s no time pressure on your games. In the afternoon on Saturday and Sunday we’ll be running traditional sealed, which is the typical prerelease experience. And Sunday morning is dedicated to Two-Headed giant, which is a great chance to play Magic with a friend in a special 2v2 format. You can register for our Prereleases, while there’s still space, by heading to https://labyrinthdc.com/magic-events right now.
And as we approach October, we have a couple of special events planned. First we’ll be hosting another Regional Championship Qualifier on October 19th. This one marks the return of limited RCQs, as we’ll be running Duskmourn sealed and a top 8 draft to determine the final two qualifiers from the store. And as a special treat top 8 finishers will receive special qualifier pins.
And then on October 26th, we’ll be hosting a special limited-seating chaos sealed Trick-or-Treat event. Players will build decks using a variety of packs including Duskmourn and original Mystery Boosters, plus some other “treats” before battling it out over three rounds of Swiss.
This week’s featured single is a beauty. Mana Vault is one of the original mana rocks of Magic. It’s very popular in Commander, and even still sees play in Vintage. But this particular copy stands out because it comes in the special Rainbow Foil treatment that was only available as part of a Secret Lair drop sold exclusively by Wizards of the Coast as a very limited print run. In fact, Mana Vault wasn’t even part of the Secret Lair itself but was a possible bonus card included with purchase. All this makes the card incredibly collectible. And although this copy is officially listed as Damaged, it’s certainly sleeve playable. So, if you’re looking to upgrade your deck with a extraordinary Mana Vault, head over to https://labyrinthgameshop.tcgplayerpro.com/ and check out our singles.
That’s all for this week! See you next Magic Monday!
