This is not a standalone game. A copy of Catan is required to play. 

With the 5-6 player extension, you can explore Catan with up to 6 players. A simple turn-taking mechanism is added to engage more players throughout the game.

If you want to play the Catan base game with 5 or 6 players, just add this base game extension.
