Make a perfect cube from the 25 "Y"-shaped pieces. With millions of ways to get close, but only 1200 perfect solutions, this cube will keep you entranced.
With this Shipper's Dilemma Y puzzle, your objective is to make a perfect cube from the 25 "Y"-shaped pieces. Then, store them under the stylish wooden cover. The Shipper's Dilemma Y puzzle was invented by David Klarner and published in the Journal of Recreational Mathematics in 1970. Originally, it was thought to be solvable 236 ways. Later, computer analysis showed that there were actually over 1200 possible ways. The challenge is finding one of the 1200 full solutions, and not falling prey to the millions of near-solutions. There are many, many ways to get "close." How long will it take you to find a true solution?
The included instructions also provide recommendations for hundreds of other shapes you can make with the pieces, each of these shapes can be more easily achieved than the cube!
