The dome of the Sistine Chapel was decorated by Michelangelo Buonarotti between 1508 and 1512. This magnificent Renaissance work comprises a series of frescoes that are arranged in numerous sections. The central area features nine scenes from Genesis, with monumental figures of the Prophets and the Sibyls on the triangular sections that support the dome.
